Artistic Director-Andrew NowickiBorn and raised in Elkhart, Indiana.
He began his study of the violin at the age of 4. Throughout his primary school career he played in orchestras including the South Bend Youth Symphony as Concert Master and the Elkhart Youth Symphony as principle second violin. He also performed with chamber groups and was a recipient of the Fischoff Artist of the Month and the Fischoff Geoffery Prize two years in a row. While in high school Andrew played electric violin in the Jazz band and that began his interest in alternative styles. Andrew studied Violin and Music Education at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Dr. Brenda Brenner was his primary violin instructor, as well as Mimi Zweig, both international recognized virtuosos of string music. While in college, he continued to participate in the community orchestra and was asked to perform the Bach Double violin concerto with his wife, Maggie. Andrew is now an orchestra director for the Lindbergh school district. He teaches at Sperreng Middle school, Lindbergh High school and several of the elementary schools. Andrew is also excited to the director of the Lindbergh High School Strolling Strings, an eclectic styles ensemble, that plays 20-25 shows annually in the St. Louis area. They have also traveled around the United States and recently attended the Stirling Bridge International Youth Arts Festival in Scotland (summer 2017).
